About FreethoughtDebater

FreethoughtDebater is the on-line journal and resource center for more conservatively-minded atheists, though we actively seek participation from people on all sides of the issues we discuss. The mere fact that we are an atheist publication implies that we are not conservative on all issues. Indeed, though FreethoughtDebater is conservatively-oriented, it is so in an independent way, and specifically in the areas of national security and fiscal policy. In many social areas, such as abortion rights and church-state separation, we would look more libertarian than republican. This is why we especially appreciate the thoughtful independent-mindedness of people who consider each issue on a case-by-case basis, rather than automatically subscribe to any organization's particular bundle of views, including FreethoughtDebater's.

We feel strongly that you do not need to be a professional philosopher or academician to understand these debates or to contribute publishable material. If we accept any writings you submit, it will be published with full author credits.

Our mission is to become the one-stop debate preparation and supply center by creating a place where writers and readers, as well as sellers and buyers, can meet to exchange concepts, ideas, books, pamphlets, and the full range of related products such as Darwin "fish," T-Shirts, Stickers, etc.

While the editorial orientation of this e-journal is politically conservative positive atheism, thoughtful theists, creationists, and others will find that FreethoughtDebater affords an opportunity both to publish and to have their arguments become the subject of critical, though respectful, analyses in the pages of this journal. Our mission is achievable only with the active participation of our readers.
