Subject: "Conservative" atheists

Comment: I consider myself to be a conservative in the general mold of Barry Goldwater, although certainly not 100%, so I would guess most folks would certainly not consider me either a liberal or a middle-of-the-roader. "Strong military" - I believe we should be able to defend our borders from invasion to the point that the invaders become incapable of inflicting harm again. "Pre-emptive use of military force" - If another nation represents a clear threat to the United States, we have the responsibility to make sure that threat is removed. However, I also believe that the Congress is the only body in the US Government with the power to declare war, and they do not have the power to abdicate (as in a "war powers act). That said, the invasion of Iraq is the most heinous act my country has performed since I started paying attention. "abortion rights" - I will never have an abortion, because, as a male, I will never be pregnant. I feel that an abortion is something that is something that should involve nobody but the pregnant woman, her physician, the father (in most cases), and those people the pregnant woman may seek advice from. And so far, none of those have been me, so I should just butt out. Continued...
