Subject: What does death mean to an atheist?
Author: Follower

Comment: I messed up the italics on the other post. Sorry.
First of all, I'm not trying to convert you to my belief system. I don?t believe this for a second. You wouldn?t be on here debating if that were true. Everyone wants to try to convert others to their belief system. Let?s be honest.
I'm asking you basic questions about your experience with evolution and Christianity; to understand the situation you previously explained about going from an atheist to a Christian from a video tape. I grew up being taught in public schools that the universe came into existence about 15 billion years ago. About 4.5 billion years ago, the earth formed out of a hot molten blob. At some point early in earth?s history, the first lifeform appeared. Over billions of years of earth?s history, we get to where we are today. Humans. I was never taught that humans or anything else was created by God. Everything I learned was focused on explaining the progression of life from the simple to complex using chance random processes. Not God. When I entered the workforce after college, I did not believe in God. At my place of work, I had several guys that were Christians and they often tried to share the Gospel with me over about a 7 year span. I didn?t want anything to do with it. These conversations either died on the spot or ended up in a debate. However, I believe the conversations sunk in a little because I started to get the desire to attend church after moving across town 12 ½ years ago. Around that same time, one of my coworkers (who?s now a close friend) gave me a video tape by Ken Ham. The video exposed the fallacies and assumptions in all of the millions of years, humans came from apes, life came from non-life teachings that I grew up with. The video was very powerful at attacking the foundation of evolutionary ?science?. You see, once that structure collapsed, and it did immediately, it was replaced by the Biblical structure. The Biblical view of origins. Having a technical background, I had a very strong desire for real science and truth. It?s not uncommon for someone to go through a radical change of heart when they ?find? God.
I understand if you want to keep it simple, but ignoring what I previously said tells me you just don't want to. A lot of the questions I asked should have simple answers if your faith is as clear as you suggest. Without looking back at my posts, I don?t recall using the word ?simple?. Maybe I did. I prefer to keep things ?short? so I don?t spend hours writing responses. I would rather write 100 short answers, instead of 1 really long answer. You?ve asked many questions in very lengthy posts. I don?t want to spend hours picking apart line after line after line after line??????..
"First Question: How did life (you) come into existence?" I don't have an answer for this question because I don't need one. Again, I don?t believe this for a second. I believe you have an opinion on origins, but you don?t want to admit it.
Any assumption about it wouldn't make me behave any different. Any assumption????? Let?s assume for sake of argument that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God. Let?s assume that it?s teachings on salvation are correct and Jesus is the only way to heaven. The Bible also teaches that you are for Christ or against Christ. There is no middle ground. If you?re against Christ, your fate is eternal suffering. If you are for Christ, your fate is heaven. You would certainly behave differently if believed in God.
I never proposed the Bible states the Earth is flat. A flat Earth was believed my many scholars. I was suggesting that once held beliefs turn out to be false. Absolutely!!!!! All of the evidence presented at the Scopes Trial to support evolution in 1925 has now been shown to be false, even by the evolutionists. Why should anyone believe anything they say? Their opinions change constantly. The Word of God stands firm.
You ignored all of my questions, more specifically about how the Bible was historic written evidence.
I don?t now exactly what you want me to say regarding this statement. The Bible is historically accurate in regards to Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, Consumation. Everything!!! There are cities listed in the Bible that exist today. There are buried cities listed in the Bible that archaeologists have found proving the Bible?s historic accuracy. There are billions of fossils all over the earth proving a world-wide flood. There are hundreds of languages spoken today proving the Tower of Babel, etc., etc., etc.
That?s enough for now. I?m tired.
